Ways We Are Helping Those In Our Community:
HOUSE OF HOPE:
For the month of February the Aborn Student Council will be collecting NEW WHITE SOCKS of any size to be given to help homeless people.  Please send in your donation by the end of February.

ANIMAL SHELTER:
The Aborn Student Council donated $200.00 to the Northeast Animal Shelter on Highland Ave. in Salem.  They were extremely pleased and excited with our generous donation.

TABS:
The Aborn Student Council is collecting tabs from the tops of aluminum cans.  The tabs are being used to help an elementary school aged child receive treatment for dialysis.  We did do our research and this family does recycle the tabs to help defray the cost of the medical expenses.  You can send in tabs at any time.

CELL PHONES FOR SOLDIERS:
Please send in any unused or broken cell phones to Aborn School.  In June we will mail them to the non-profit organization that recycles phone parts.  With the money that is received from the phone parts, they buy phone cards and pass them out to the soldiers overseas.  The soldiers can use the phone cards to call family members.  Please help us help the soldiers!  The phones can be sent in any time.

HAITI:
The Aborn School Student Council recently held a fundraiser for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.  They raffled off two baskets of goodies.  The students and staff raised $568.  Our collected donation will be sent to The Red Cross.
